As the next meeting is a dinner meeting at Plates, there will be no speaker. Ordering from the menu is time consuming and causes delays and interventions, so members present opted to choose the buffet style dinner instead of ordering from the menu. As the date of the Brits Around BC event in 2008 is still unknown, it is not possible at this time to coordinate a pig roast social with the intended Campbell River visit being planned. Apparently Steve Watkins has volunteered to provide the pig for the event, even though he may not be in town on the chosen date. Dave Hampshire gave us a commentary on the Fort Rodd car show and the drive that took place the previous day. Both events were well planned and most enjoyable. He was given several favourable comments about our Filberg show, from other participants. They really liked receiving a bottle of wine! Note to us, start the wine earlier next year so it is well matured. Jim Stephan currently has a rare Austin Healey Nash in his workshop. Interested members should go have a look. Geoff was thanked for organizing the use of the billiard room for our meeting. The arrangement will be good for next month but after that we are on our own again. Phil suggested having dinner meetings at Glacier Greens as an alternative. Dennis was pressed into action, again, to conduct nominations for executive positions for the New Year. on the website.

our dues goes to this organization who provide member participation insurance as part of the group.

Yvonne identified all the sponsors who have been mailed thank you letters. The list includes Courtenay Car Centre,
Brian McLean Chevrolet, Plates Eatery, Longwood Brew Pub, NAPA, Whytes Framing, Corks, Caps & Fermentalia,
Bi Tron Products, North Island College, Ian Cox, Natural Glacier Waters, Quality Foods and Shaw Community Cable.

Many favourable comments were received from attendees of the Filberg Show. Some out of town people indicated
they would prefer to see the show remain at the Filberg Gardens and would not be interested in attending a show
at a location where they may be parked on tarmac surfaces, or less attractive surroundings.

If the show is to be continued at the Filberg Gardens, these are the issues that need clarification before next year:
1.	The parking area must be expanded; too much area was roped off this year.
2.	If we offer coffee again as a donation incentive for YANA, the contractor supplying the food concession
must be informed that only we will provide coffee, they are encouraged to supply juice, pop and water.
3.	Request that OECC create an annual calendar of events on their website, clearly listing our chosen dates.

Following the meeting, members can view the work in progress on Koreen's MGB as well as watch a demonstration
by David, of tuning using illuminated spark plugs.

Upcoming Events:

Workshop on SU Carburettors:
A big Thank You to David Whitworth, who conducted an hour-long workshop on rebuilding HF and HIF
SU carburetors.

He started out by telling us that working on the SU carburetors is the final stage of the tune up. Do the
timing, the plugs, points, condenser first. To clean the carburetor, soak it in “Greenstuff” a
bio-degradable product available from Canadian Tire and the like.

Then he proceeded with stripping the carburetor, identifying all those tricky parts. Did you know that
the springs inside come in different colours, not to appeal to one's decorator senses but to identify
the strength of the spring for the correct application? Also there are more than 300 hundred needles
to choose from? Better have that SU Carburetor Workshop Manual handy. Jet sizes also come in three
choices, 90,000 100,00 and 125,00 thousands of an inch apertures?

Working on the floats presents a new array of tricky issues. First off, don't mix up the floats between
the two carburetors and certainly don't interchange the pistons. Consider whether there is too much
movement on the shaft of the butterfly.

Perhaps it is a good thing that Octagon rebuilds carburetors. Peter has the name of a
company in Victoria that rebuilds carburetors.

Workshop at Comox Valley Auto Electric 780B Cumberland Rd Courtenay, (across from Reliable Auto

Minutes of Meeting October 17, 2006

The meeting began at 7:07 PM. There were twenty-two people present.
Dennis Broad chaired the meeting as Dave Whitworth was out of town.

The Chairperson's Report :
Dave Whitworth, Chairperson, has resigned as he has taken a teaching position in Victoria, with a possible
relocation. Dennis Broad, Vice Chairperson, has taken a teaching position that involves time in Ontario that is
in conflict with the Club's scheduled monthly meetings.
Phil Whyte, Treasurer, has resigned because of business pressures.
John Kane, Secretary, has resigned due to a forthcoming move from the area.
The BC OECC meeting will be on October 29, with participants collected at Tswassan.
Patricia Sparks needs the date for the 2007 Filberg meet.
OECC President Steve Diggins had only one vote to do with The Montague of Beaulieu Award, so will award it
himself. This received a complaint from Robert Atkins.

Treasurer Phil Whyte reported that the Club has $951.78 in the bank and $55.59 in petty cash.

Discussion began about the location of next year's Filberg meet, which received a good write-up in The Spanner.
Geoff Wellens moved, seconded by Margaret Wright, to change the agenda to first elect the new Executive
before proceeding. The agenda was therefore changed.

Larry Ziegler, who was not present, had submitted a written nomination for Brian Wright as Chairperson. The
nomination was accepted by Brian, seconded by Phil Whyte, and approved.
For Vice Chairperson, Yvonne Higgs nominated Karen Whitworth, who accepted the nomination with the
understanding that it could only be until February 2007, due to the Whitworth's relocation plans. Karen was
approved.
Gill Cutland nominated Koreen Gurak for Treasurer and Secretary, seconded by Margaret Wright. Margaret
then made a motion, seconded by Phil Maclaren, to combine the Secretary and Treasurer posts as one
position. This was carried and Koreen was approved.
Thus the new Executive is now as follows:
Brian Wright as Chairperson, Karen Whitworth as Vice Chairperson, and Koreen Gurak as both Treasurer and
Secretary.

It was reported that Filberg is tentatively booked for the Club for next August 19th. It is not known if the rental
fee will still be $350, but Karen moved and Gill seconded that the club write to confirm, and send a cheque for
a deposit to hold it. This was confirmed. Members agreed that Filberg was the most pleasing place in the area
for the August meet, even though other venues had been discussed. The Club also feels assured that the
generous sponsorship for the Filberg meet will again come from Greenwood Pies and the Courtenay Car Centre.

Phil Whyte proposed that there should be a Christmas Dinner this year, and all were in favour. Availability will
be checked at the Griffin Pub and the Edge Bistro for the meeting night of December 12th, or the preceding
week for December 5th. Margaret offered to discuss such availability with Barry, the owner of the Griffin.

Phil Maclaren announced that he will look after the proposed swap meet for next May 6 at the Courtenay
Recreation Center that will involve three or four other local collector car clubs.

Gill Cutland will have tickets for the November 18 Fall Dance of the North Island Jazz Society, featuring the
Desperation Jazz Band.

Dennis gave a talk on Preparing Your Car For Winter, for both driving or storing. Print-outs were also
distributed.

Margaret Wright moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Doug Veale.
The meeting ended at 8:20 PM

Meeting September 19, 2006
The meeting started at 7:04 PM. A total of 14 people attended. Phil Whyte, Treasurer, chaired the meeting, beginning with the announcement that our Chairperson, Dave Whitworth, has resigned effective immediately due to work commitments in Vancouver and Victoria, and a projected relocation to Victoria. Dennis Broad, Vice Chairperson, was out of town, and will be unable to attend further meeting for the time being due to out-of-province work commitments. John Kane, Secretary, will be resigning his position due to a move away from the area. Elections for new officers will be at the October meeting, instead of the November meeting, and nomination forms will be e-mailed to members prior to the October meeting. Nominations for Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary and possibly Treasurer are encouraged. Aero Art will not be at the next Filberg meet, but has some silk-screened shirts available from the Filberg 2006 meet, and additional printed shirts can be quickly produced. Shirts available: grey long $15, golf $20, round-neck T-shirt $10. The Fish and Chip run will be this Sunday, September 24 to Fish Tales Restaurant in Qualicum. There is a reservation for 24 people at 3:30 PM. Members to meet at 2 PM in the parking lot by London Drugs in Courtenay. Phil announced that the Chapter has $956 in the bank, and $95 in petty cash. The Filberg meet showed a net loss of $70, which was due partly to the reduced entry fee for cars and for the unexpected greater cost of the award ribbons. Filberg has not been booked for next year, and concern was expressed about their escalating fees. There was discussion as to alternative venues. Brian Wright reported that Crown Isle does not have the space to host our event. School playing fields were suggested, and Yvonne mentioned considering fairgrounds. Brian mentioned the ball diamond in Union Bay or the Marina Park. Peter suggested downtown Courtenay around 4th and 5th streets, and reported that similar car meets are held with great success, both for the clubs and the merchants, in downtown Prince George. Phil reported that branch OECC membership dues are now required to be submitted quarterly at $7.50 per person. The meeting ended at 7:24 PM OECC Minutes for Meeting on July 18, 2006 The meeting started at 7:05 PM with 21 people present, including new member Corrine who arrived in her 1969 MGB.President Dave Whitworth reported that on Saturday, July 15, 11 members went to the Fanny Bay event, expecting to be but a sideline at the show. However, they found that they were indeed the very show itself, having each paid $5.00 for the privilege, in contrast to the $2.00 paid by visitors. On Sunday, July 16 at 8:30 AM, 11 cars set off from Courtenay for the Brits On The Beach meeting in Ladysmith. Three more cars joined the procession along the way, and there were 160 entries at the event. Our group enjoyed a good picnic, and arrived home around 5:00 PM. Dave received a notice in the mail about a charity event in Coombs on Saturday, August 5 – the Blast From The Past Show and Shine. Contact Bob or Marg at 250 248 1072 for details. Some updates for the Filberg Car Show weekend on August 12 and 13: YANA will run a raffle for artist’s prints. Ian Cox of Victoria has confirmed that he will again be there with his memorabilia booth. Greenwood Pies will again be there both with their food stall and as a sponsor. Aero Art will again be there screen-printing custom T-shirts. John Kane will again be MC, and will play music from the four car groups – 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s – on a PA/stereo system provided by Steve Watkins. Frank De Carlo offered to provide his trailer again as a sound stage platform, and Yvonne Higgs offered to check into the availability of tables and chairs. Robert Kirk, of Courtenay Car Centre, will again act as judge. Karen Whitworth suggested that quality keepsake prize ribbons be made in Nanaimo. Prestigious ribbons in red, white and blue for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes, and a total of 18 required. The motion was made by Josie Watkins, seconded by Gil Cutland, and all were in favour. There was discussion about "booty prizes," i.e. discarded car parts gathered by members to be given as ‘boot’ prizes. Odds and ends could be collected, and a contest held to identify what each part is, and from what car. Dennis Broad offered to make a list. On Saturday afternoon on August 12, there will be the Drivers’ Challenge at the college, using their new circuit road around the parking lot. This will enable a future speed event as well as the skills contest. Dave asked for volunteers to help with parking on Sunday, August 13 from 8:00 AM on. There was much discussion about the $15 entry fee for vehicles. Apparently it is too high for OECC members from Campbell River, so they do not attend Filberg. It was suggested that a new venue be found for next year, that the town should sponsor the event as it brings in tourism and business, and that a lower entry fee could then be offered as the club would no longer be paying Filberg. Phil Whyte assured the club that there was $790 in the bank, and most bills have been paid. Frank De Carlo made the motion that for this year we reduce the entry fee from $15.00 to $5.00. Brian Wright seconded it, and the motion was passed. John Kane was asked to contact Pat Sparks so she can broadcast the good news far and wide to all BC OECC sites. As alternative venues, Josie Watkins suggested the fairgrounds on Headquarters Road, others mentioned shaded parks in Courtenay, and Brian Wright said he would speak to his contact at Crown Isle. The fish and chip run will be on Sunday, September 24 at Fish Tales, Qualicum Beach. Frank De Carlo invited everybody to his place on Sunday, Sept. 3, on Labour Day weekend for a pig roast. Those attending are asked to bring salads, drinks and chairs. The meeting adjourned at 8:15 PM.
OECC Minutes, Ice Cream Run - June 20, 2006
Club members gathered in the parking lot of the Edgewater Pub. There was a good turnout, including some
guests. President Dave Whitworth made the following announcements:

July 1st. Parade would like a show of cars, we would be at the beginning of the parade possibly taking
some left over dignitaries. We would park our cars in the Rec. Centre parking lot by the fence.

July 15. We have been asked to show our cars at the 75th Fanny Bay festivities to be held at the Fanny Bay
park.

"Brits on the Beach" is coming up to be held at Ladysmith on July 16th.

By way of a circuitous procession along country roads, the Ice Cream Run participants successfully reached
the Dairy Queen on Cliffe Avenue, where everyone enjoyed good conversation and satiating of that
sweet-tooth craving.

                                    OECC Meeting May 30 2006
This month's meeting was held at Reliable Auto Body Inc on Cumberland Road, Courtenay. The meeting
began at 6:04 PM. There were twenty-nine people present. In addition to members from the OECC, there
were folk from the Vintage Car Club, as well as some motorcycle enthusiasts. Napa Auto parts was also
represented. Many of the attendees brought their collector cars and bikes.

Gary Wedermeyer, with Norton Automotive Refinishing Products, gave a demonstration of scratch removal,
buffing and polishing. The Liquid Ice product was featured, and impressive results were shown. There was
much discussion, and after the presentation, participants were encouraged to try sanding and buffing for
themselves.

Refreshments were served, promotional literature was available, and there was a draw for prizes. The
meeting was over by 8:30 PM.

Minutes of the OECC Meeting, April 18, 2006
Dave Whitworth, president, started the meeting at 7:09 PM with 18 members present. The OECC Executive
Meeting in Tsawwassen will be this May 7, but as Dave will not be able to attend, Dennis Broad has offered to
go instead. There was discussion about the members dues paid to the society, which was once $7.50 but was
reduced to $5. The Wheel magazine will now be on the internet, and will be sent to all via email.

Treasurer Phil Whyte said that we have a bank balance of $740.86 and a petty cash balance of minus $3.05.

Dave requested that members send him pictures from the Filberg show last August to post on-line, and that
he is already receiving enquires for the August 2006 show. Dave announced that for the wine production as
prizes, bottles have been collected and cleaned. Yvonne Higgs will make the wine, and will require volunteers
for the bottling and labelling.

There was considerable discussion about the AGM June 24 meeting in Kamloops, and that gift baskets are
requested. The benefit to us was questioned as the Brits Around BC will not include the Island this year. Phil
MacLaren made the motion to send baskets, and it was seconded by Gil Cutland.

For the AGM Oxo award, it has been suggested that Ian Cox, founder of the OECC, receive the award this year.
For the Beaulieau award, Patricia and Derrick Sparks and John and Pauline Morrison have been nominated.

Six volunteers were enlisted by Phil MacLaren for the Swap Meet and Auto Show on Sunday May 7 at the CV
Sports Centre to help with the parking.

The Spitfire Club wants OECC vehicles to go to the hanger on Sunday May 21 for their open house. The
Cumberland Parade is on Monday May 22, so that is not a conflict

The Miles Per Ton rally for this Sunday has been postponed again, this time due to a conflict with the Snow
to Surf event in Marina Park.

There was discussion about the May trip to the Crow and Gate Pub in Cedar, just south of Nanaimo. The
Nanaimo OECC wants to join us, and perhaps the Morgan club as well. Dave will call the Nanaimo club to
suggest May 28. The pub suggested that although they do not take reservations, we should be there by
11 AM to ensure seating.

Frank De Carlo announced that he has lots of MGB parts he is anxious to dispose of.

The speaker for the evening was Jim Stepan, owner of the recently opened Quality Restorations at
2440F Cliffe Avenue, phone 338 7724, offering high quality bodywork and paint, as well as some
mechanical work. Many members had questions, and Jim was informative and entertaining.

The meeting adjourned at 8:40 PM

Next meeting May 30th, 7 pm at Reliable Autobody Shop on Cumberland Road. A demonstration on how to
sand, polish, remove scratches, and the materials that are available to maintain the finish of your cars. Other
clubs will be there. This demonstration was put on for the Campbell River club last month and was one of the
best attended demontrations to date. For more information call FRANK DECARLO AT 338-2102

		March 21st, 2006
Meeting began at 7:10 PM. Ten people present.

The guest speaker was unable to attend to give a talk on bodywork, but has promised to be
there for the April meeting.

Phil Whyte informed the group that there is $869 in the bank, and $22 plus in petty cash.

A date has not been set for the Tofino Run, and there was discussion about the best time being
at some point in the summer when all steam events are operating. Bill Sterne suggested that a
decision should soon be made because of the need to book accommodations well in advance.
Dave Whitworth thought that it could be a one-day event without an overnight stay.

The February Miles Per Ton Run was disrupted because of the snowfall, but the intended
participants who had gathered for the event showed a keen sense of winter survival skills by
retiring to the Lorne Pub to seek shelter, warmth and refreshments.

Yvonne Higgs gave information on the Dilly Dally Rally which will be this Sunday, March 26.
The start will be at 1 PM from the lower level at the Florence Filberg Centre, and will be about
66 kilometres. As the participants will need to observe various clues, a navigator will be
essential. The run should take about 2 1/2 to 3 hours, with all returning to eat at 4 PM, and the
event over by 5 PM. The prize will be for two free meals.

Volunteers from the OECC were requested for the May 7 Swap Meet , which will be held as usual
with other car clubs in the Valley.

For prizes at the August Filberg Car Show, it was reported that it would be legal for the club to
produce wine, bottle and label it to give away as prizes. Apparently there are 27 to 28 bottles per
batch. Dave Sherstone introduced the motion that funds be withdrawn for this, and it was seconded
by Gill Cutland. There was a clear preference amongst those present that red wine, rather than
white, be produced.

There was general discussion and reminiscing about collector cars, some auto magazines were
exchanged, and the meeting ended at 8 PM.

            OECC Meeting. February 21, 2006

Meeting began at 7:00 PM Dave handed out membership cards, club invitation cards, and our new membership roster. There were OECC newsletters and the main OECC rosters available, and for The Spanner ( the forthcoming on-line newsletter) it was suggested to check on the website.

The January Afternoon Tea Rally was discussed. About ten cars took part, and all participants agreed that it was much enjoyed.

The MPG Run and Lunch will be this Sunday, February 26. It will be a 'miles per ton run' - i.e. how much fuel is used per weight of vehicle. 1 PM will be the start time, with cars gathering in the Comox Marina parking lot. Cars should be fully topped up with fuel upon arrival, and re-fuelled at the Save-On Gas at Driftwood Mall, and the receipt submitted.

Dave announced that Brits On The Beach is confirmed, and will be on Sunday, July 16 in Ladysmith.

Dave received an e-mail from the Rootes Group, Sunbeam Canada about a fundraising. Details at www.sunbeamcanada.org . All are invited to participate, and not just Sunbeam/Talbot/Darracq owners.

The Swap Meet will be Sunday, April 9 from 10 to 4 at the Saanich Historical Artefact Society in Victoria. A 10 x 10 space indoors is $20 before March 21, and $25 thereafter. An outdoor space is $15, and 8x10 spaces are also available. Ask Dave for more details. It will also be posted by Yvonne on the website..

The Campbell River toTofino Run has been confirmed, and will be June 9-10.

With the Port Alberni Steam Train, Lunch Run, there was discussion as to when would be the best time, and agreement reached that summer would be best, when all steam powered attractions would be operating and the facilities would be set up to handle guests.

Len and Bonnie Smith have videos to lend club members. Dave asked if members could make give-away items for Filberg, or perhaps provide car parts. Frank offered to donate a fishing trip to Browns Bay, and/or a ride in a sidecar.

Yvonne suggested that bottles of wine could be brewed and given away. There was some discussion as to whether this would be in violation of licensing laws, and Yvonne offered to check into it.

Dennis gave a talk on Voltage Drop Loss, and provided worksheets and diagrams. Dennis offered to give a Voltage Drop Loss workshop after his return from New Zealand and Australia.

The meeting ended at 8:30 PM.

OECC Meeting January 17, 2006 Meeting started at 7PM. 20 people present.

Phil informed the group that the club has $658.58 in the bank account, and $104.43 in petty cash, plus $100 in membership fees taken in during the meeting.

Dave announced that the Round BC run this year was only on the Mainland and not across to the Island. There will be the OECC AGM in Kamloops on June 24, followed by a six-day run to Vernon, to Nelson, and on to Kelowna.

In May, possibly the 28th, there will be the Port Alberni steam train and lunch run to the steam operated mill. Although not open until June, it will open early on May 27 to accommodate a visiting cruise ship. Ten members showed an interest in attending, and it was decided to invite the Campbell River club.

This Sunday, January 22, there will be the Afternoon Tea Rally. Meeting in the parking lot at the Edge at 1PM. Bring empty containers and plastic bags to 'collect things along the way'. All cars welcome. The run will be an hour or so until 2:30 PM, and then on to Dave and Karen's for tea at 3.

February the 26th will be the MPG Run and lunchtime stop.

Dave asked for folks who might be able to provide interesting talks or events. Phil offered to let people watch as he works on his Jensen Healey, and Dennis offered a class on charging and starting systems.

Bill is working on his MG TC. The engine is out, and Bill is currently re-spoking the wheels, and should be finished soon. Each wheel has 48 spokes, and the outside spokes are the most worn due to lateral force. The spokes are 'tuned' by ear, and this was last done 25 years ago.

Chris spoke of there being some urgency for Dave Proctor to sell his TR6, possibly for around $10,000, and of a lady wishing to sell a black MGB - asking $7,500 but prepared to accept $5,000.

The speaker for the evening was Larry Jangular from Larry's Cars and Parts. The topic was importing car parts and cars, principally from the USA. There was much discussion, experiences shared, and many questions asked. Larry has had many years of professional experience with Canadian customs, and is a very knowledgeable broker. Minutes of last meeting: Accepted as posted on the web site.. President's Report: AGM in Sydney, new president, from Vancouver, elected, all other positions the same people. Banquet following did not get rave reviews. Pat and Denis Sparks won our donated basket and rated it excellent! There was a debate on renewing the publication, The Spanner. Some want it on the web site. The decision has been tabled. About 13 cars left from the Beacon Hill picnic, around 1 pm to start the Round BC run. Members Phil, Chris and Yvonne met the group in Qualicum, escorted them to the Anco Motel then to Marina Park for a photo op. A security guard watched over the parked cars and commented that many people had stopped by to look at the cars. (The publicity on local radio worked well!). This was followed by a BBQ upstairs at the Edge, well attended by our local members. Apparently we will also have a write up in the local paper, by Mat, (?) and he will add details of the upcoming Filberg Meet. On July 1st, Canada Day parade, we have a request for cars to drive VIP's. Contact David. The advantage is going to the head of the parade. Parking will be on the paved area near the Totem poles. The cappuccino cart will be on site as well as access to the Tea House in the park. Greenwood Pies is undecided if they will set up a table or booth. New Business: Phil McClaren reported on the success of the swap meet at the old Sports Centre, best year ever. Date to change next year to move away from Mother's Day and combine with the Vanier Garage Sale event. For the five clubs present, our club played a very minor role. Perhaps, next year, the club will pay for one table and invite its members to bring items, rather than ask individuals to pay for tables. Profit was $2,500, $1780 at gate and $705 from vendor table purchases. Costs were over $2,000 in advertising by the arena/ pool. It was decided by the other clubs to give $1000 to the arena / pool to help them with the advertising costs; keep $500 for start-up costs next year. The remaining $1000 to be split between the five clubs. Phil suggested, like the other clubs, to hand over our $200 to NAPA who funds a disabled children's summer camp. This way, the $1000 would be split between Courtenay Auto Supply and Crest, in Campbell River. Each would sponsor local children to attend summer camp. Motion: To donate the club's $200 share of the Swap Meet profits to the NAPA camp for disabled children. Motion passed.
Beacon Hill Park: After some 20 years, the powers that be wish to deny entry to our old English cars for our Beacon Hill picnic event. Next Meeting: July 21st 2005 at 7:00 p.m. upstairs at the Edgewater Meeting adjourned: 8:20 p.m.

New business: · Greenwood Pies has sponsored the Filberg Meet with a $300 donation. · Lively discussion ensued as to whether, as a non-profit organization, we should be seeking sponsorships. Some members were adamant that we should not be seeking sponsors. Many other members felt that working with business and community sponsorship involves more people, increases the feeling of community, gives our organization more exposure and expands the range of possibilities for club action. · Discussion on quantity of key fobs to re-order. Report as read accepted (motioned by Larry and seconded by David) Old business quickly covered to refresh everyone. New business: Charlie may not be able to MC Filberg but John Kane has volunteered to step in. Thank you to John. Len and Bonnie are going to participate in the "round BC Run" after the AGM. We will meet the group on the Sunday June 19 about Qualicum area (exact details to come) and escort to Courtenay. As our gift to the participants, we suggest taking photo of each of the cars and drivers at the lookout on the Dyke Rd. with Glacier in background and supplying a photo book for them to take on run. Yvonne volunteered to take photos. We would end up at the Edge for BBQ ($10.00 each) on the deck after the participants check into their motel. David also explained the AGM in Victoria and anyone interested should contact him for more info. The Valley Classic Cruisers are again meeting Thursday evenings (weather permitting) at the A&W on Cliffe at 6:00 for a run and chat with like-minded car nuts. We are invited. Harold Mulder of the Spitfire Restoration project would like some of our cars to park alongside the spitfire on May 22 for photo op and promotion. Would need cars from about noon-4:00. Next day May 23rd., Cumberland would like us to supply cars to drive dignitaries in parade and then return the dignitaries from the park to their reception. Count on being there from before 10:00 a.m., parade start, to after 1:30 drop off. If interested please contact David. Brian's suggestion of a hill climb on Mt Washington was greeted enthusiastically but it is early days and much has to be considered. It is a huge undertaking and we need input from other organizations such as the Victoria Motor Sport Club (VMSC) who do hill climbs. It would be good for the Valley but can we as a club handle it? More discussion needed. The meeting night has recently been changed to the 3rd Tues of the month and as some, including our secretary cannot make this night, it was open to the floor for alternatives. Based on those present, the other available night (2nd Tues), did not work as they had commitments then. It was decided to stay with 3rd Tues. Motioned by Marg and 2nd by Gil. David introduced some prepared business cards that we as members could place on parked cars or handed to interested people inviting them to check out our club. We will wait to get some more as everyone agreed it was a good idea. We have one entry already from Langley for our All British Field Meet at the Filberg. David mentioned as many as 20 coming up from Victoria MG Club. Promotions dept. wants stories on your cars and photos to pepper the newspapers prior to the Filberg show to gain interest and public awareness. Please submit to Karen. The event this Sunday will be a run from the Esso station corner Ryan / Anderton starting 10:00 am and following a route to Campbell River Chevron Station where we will fill up again. Please bring your papers to show vehicle weight as we are going to determine most efficient driver as to weight of car. From Station we will make our way back to Salmon Point Inn for lunch. Next Meeting: May 17th, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. Meeting adjourned 7:50.

Minutes of the OECC Meeting March 15th, 2005 Meeting started at 7:10 p.m. Room rental and meeting night. If actual cost of room is going to increase, Ken Melnyk suggested we build a contingency fund through our runs and rallies. Brian Wright also suggested this was a good idea so even though no motion made, we will "cross that bridge". Tuesday night works for most, even had a new person that could not make Wednesday nights. We still want to accommodate as many as possible so please give input. Treasurer's report: Bank balance is $670.00 and petty cash $52.00. Moved to be accepted as read, by Gil and seconded by Doug. Cost is $3.25 ea (plus applicable taxes). Move to buy by Phil and seconded by Brian. Charlie may not be available to MC Filberg so please suggest alternatives as backup. Brian suggested possibly a radio host, which may lead to extra coverage as a bonus. Len and Bonnie had their video library available for members to sign out. This has been well received and a group thank you to Len and Bonnie. North Island College will allow our "Drivers Challenge" portion of the All British Field Meet at the Filberg, in their parking lot as long as we provide a copy of our club insurance coverage. Brian and Frank have agreed that all the donations taken at the gate (of the Filberg meet) are to be given to YANA.
